CINCINNATI – Blue Kaboom (www.bluekaboom.com) recently launched a new website for the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Ohio (NAMI Ohio) (http://www.namiohio.org/). NAMI Ohio is a grassroots organization that provides support, education, and advocacy for individuals and families affected by serious brain disorders. Much of its work revolves around education and advocacy related to mental health issues, funding and treatment.
The new easy- to- navigate website highlights NAMI’s mission, its education and support programs, advocacy tools, along with several other resources designed to educate and assist individuals affected by mental illness, their families and friends. The website also features a function where visitors to the site can easily search for and contact local NAMI affiliates in their area.
“NAMI Ohio contacted us wanting to streamline their website, so individuals could easily find information surrounding mental health issues, find local NAMI affiliates, and learn how to effectively advocate for this issue,” said Troy Henson, President, Blue Kaboom. “We were able to design a site in line with NAMI’s objectives that’s much easier to navigate, so people can find the information they need. We hope this site will be a valuable tool for NAMI to shed a spotlight on this issue.”
“It was great working with Blue Kaboom on this undertaking. Our number one issue was usability; we wanted to make sure people could find what they needed without getting frustrated. Our new site is much more functional,” said Karen Lindberg, Director of Membership and Affiliate Support, NAMI Ohio. “We are particularly excited about the new affiliate search function. Blue Kaboom was able to organize information for over 50 local Ohio NAMI chapters and make it searchable. Individuals will now be able to easily find the information or help they need. In addition, local affiliates will be able to update their information so that users will have a better idea of what kind of support is available in their community.”
