Tablet Web Design

It is no longer possible to ignore the influence of tablets in the non-computer segment of the market. Blue Kaboom knows that it is just as important to pay attention to those users exploring your website on a mobile device as well as a tablet device such as an iPad. There are multitude of reasons behind this decision, mostly it’s because that most of Blue Kaboom’s clients want to make sure they are getting the majority of the market and those that have money for their product.
iPads, King of the Tablets.
Rather the rest of the market wants to admit it or not, iPads have transformed the way we interact with websites. In this case, the IOS or the operating system does dictate how a user views your website. This transition is happening fast. iPads now account for a higher share of digital traffic over iPhones and 85% of the total tablet market.

Tablet users = Money (at least right now)
Resent research from a ComScore report suggests that about 50% of the owners of tablets have an household income of $100K and more. This is not surprising due to that the tablets price points right now. It is well predicted that as the price point goes down, the segment will become more evenly distributed.
What do we do different than a mobile website?
Blue Kaboom raise the bar on how our website are built, we know that the iPad user is going to want to interact with the website a little differently than a mobile website. The iPad user is not a mobile user, and should not be treated as one.
First, developers must be prepared to offer a website that can be viewed in a landscape or portrait mode. This means our designers and developers must keep a fluid design style in mind. So that the site could be viewed in either mode. The developer needs to use CSS and Javascript to make sure this user experience and clean and problem free as possible.
Look mom, no fold
Because of the ability to flip a tablet in landscape or portrait mode, our designers need to keep this in mind that we do not want to count on a fold of the screen. a portrait mode can usally display all the of the page at once, while in landscape mode a users finger can flick the page up, down, left and right!
Not so “FLASHy”
Just like the counter part the iPad does not play any Flash movies. This means that we have adopted new technologies that include HTML 5 and javascripts to work around the “blue lego icon” that is now present if your devise does not support flash.
